PP-C, polypropylene copolymer, is the tougher version of polypropylene. C stands for copolymer, a version that is tougher and takes temperature swings better than the homopolymer. The material is softer than PP-H and keeps its impact strength even when it is cold.
The density is 0.91 g/cm³ and the modulus 1200 MPa. The yield strength is 23 MPa and the elongation at yield 7 percent. The notched Charpy impact strength is 45 kJ/m², the ball indentation hardness 50 MPa and Shore D 67. The dielectric strength is 52 kV/mm.
The temperature range runs from -20 °C to +80 °C in short term testing. The building fire class is B2. PP-C in natural is approved for direct food contact per FDA.
PP-C is used for tanks, vats, tubes, ventilation ducts, machine guards and parts exposed to impacts in the cold. The material is welded with hot air or a welding rod and can be sawn, milled and drilled with ordinary tools.
The back is reinforced with polypropylene fabric (PPB). The values in the text apply to the base sheet without the backing.
This sheet in PP-C PPB with polypropylene backing is gray and measures 3000x1500 mm, which suits cutting boards, linings, splash guards and machine guards. With the 3000x1500 mm dimensions and the gray surface you get a sheet in PP-C PPB with polypropylene backing that is particularly well suited to large workpieces that are to be cut to size. Would you like this sheet in PP-C PPB with polypropylene backing with the 3000x1500 mm dimensions and the gray surface cut or trimmed to your measurements? Add CTS to the cart.
