Tube in PC CMP is industrial polycarbonate intended for semiconductor manufacturing. CMP stands for Chemical Mechanical Planarization, that is, the polishing step in semiconductor manufacturing. The material is cleanliness classified so it does not contaminate the processes in clean rooms.

The properties otherwise follow industrial PC. The density is 1.2 g/cm³, the yield strength 71 MPa and the elongation at break above 50 percent. The tensile modulus is 2 323 MPa and the flexural modulus 2 350 MPa. The flexural strength is 97 MPa and the ball indentation hardness 110 MPa.

For the CMP grade the ball indentation hardness is measured at 128 MPa to ISO 2039-1 on 4 mm material. The glass transition temperature is 150 °C, Vicat B/50 150 °C and HDT/A 1.8 MPa 133 °C. The maximum service temperature is 120 °C continuous and 135 °C for short periods. The minimum service temperature is minus 60 °C.

The tubes are used for parts and fixtures in the semiconductor industry, where cleanliness and mechanical stability during the process are decisive. The material is machined with cutting tools on the same principles as other industrial PC.
