Ventilationskanaler i plast: PP och PVC i kemisk miljö

In environments containing chemicals, it is particularly important to choose the right material for the ventilation ducts. We offer several options that can be used to create safe and efficient systems. Here, we take a closer look at polypropylene homopolymer (PP-H) and PVC-U, two common materials in these contexts.

PP-H för tuffa miljöer

PP-H is a good choice where there is a risk of aggressive vapours. The material has high chemical resistance and withstands attack from many harmful substances. We tailor the dimensions to your requirements, ensuring the ducts fit your project perfectly.

So how do you know which material is best suited? It depends primarily on the chemicals to which the ventilation duct will be exposed. If there are strong, aggressive vapours, PP-H is a safe bet.

PVC-U för allmän ventilation

PVC-U is often used for general ventilation in chemical environments. It is a more cost-effective alternative to PP-H, but still offers good chemical resistance. Furthermore, PVC-U is easy to work with, cut and shape.

PVC-U är inte lika tåligt som PP-H mot de allra starkaste kemikalierna. Men för mindre krävande applikationer är det ett utmärkt alternativ. Vi erbjuder PVC-U i olika former och storlekar.

Choose the material based on exposure

Temperature is also a factor. High temperatures can affect the material’s chemical resistance. In such cases, other materials, such as PE-HD or POM-C, may be more suitable.

Anslutningsmetoder

Once you have chosen the material, it is time to consider how the ducts will be joined. Welding and flanges are common methods. Welding produces strong and tight joints, whilst flanges may be easier to use.

The choice of connection method depends on the material and the load the duct will be subjected to. For PP-H, welding may be the best option for achieving a strong and tight connection.

Ett material med låg brandfarlighet och korrekt installation är viktigt. Du kan till exempel använda material med en hårdhet på 65° Shore D.
