PEEK GF30 round bar in unusual dimensions
Every now and then, we receive enquiries that really put us to the test. We recently faced just such a challenge: a customer was looking for PEEK GF30 round bar – a material reinforced with 30 per cent glass fibre (GF30) – in a size that proved difficult to source.
After an extensive search amongst suppliers across Europe, we realised that solid round bar over 100 mm in diameter in this material was virtually impossible to source. Hollow tubes were available, but not the solid round bar the customer required.

Well, the idea is to create a solution that works internationally. One inch is equal to 25.4 mm, which means that 14 inches is exactly 355.6 mm. By opting for this dimension, we can offer PEEK GF30 in both metric and imperial sizes.
PEEK GF30 is ideal for environments with high temperatures or static loads. The material has excellent chemical resistance and is unaffected by common solvents. It can also withstand high doses of gamma radiation. Furthermore, the material has good thermal stability, minimal thermal expansion and low moisture absorption.
