Cover plugs TP40 white

An open tube end collects dust, chips and condensation that attack the tube from the inside over time, and the edge is often sharp enough to tear both clothes and packaging. On floor standing structures there is the added risk that the tube end scratches the floor when the frame is moved. The cap is fitted over the tube end and is held by the press fit against the outside of the tube; the tube is closed completely, and the external collar protects the edge of the tube end against knocks and blows at the same time. Nothing sticks into the tube, which makes the cap useful even when the inside of the tube is already taken.

Cover Plugs TP40 in the white version are an external end cap for round tube, made in polyethylene (PE) with a matte surface. The plug closes open tube ends in frames, machine stands, railings and furniture tube; a small component that lifts the overall impression and solves several practical problems into the bargain.

The series covers 13 sizes for round tube, from 3 mm up to 38 mm in tube outer diameter. Since the cap sits on the outside of the tube it is the outer dimension that governs the fit, not the wall thickness; that makes the choice simpler but puts the same demand on a correctly measured tube. Check the actual dimensions of the tube against the table in the manufacturer's data sheet before you order; nominal tube dimensions can differ a little between tube manufacturers, and it is the actual dimension that decides how well the plug sits.

The sizes start as low as 3 mm; the white TP40 is often used as protection on slim tube, pins and thread ends in light interiors and care environments. Delivery is in packs of 250 to 1000 pieces depending on size. A rubber mallet helps when fitting the larger sizes. Do not strike the plug directly with a steel hammer; the head then risks being deformed and the seal gets worse. Plugs that have sat out in sun and weather for several years can become more brittle, so replace them along with other maintenance if they start to look tired.
