A frame on feet stands still; the same frame on wheels becomes a cart. Tube Wheels HH30 are push in wheels in PA6 for round tubes in the smaller dimensions, meant for light structures that should be possible to roll aside during cleaning, move between stations or bring out when needed without anyone having to lift. The wheel is mounted straight into the tube end, so the leg becomes its own wheel mount and the structure needs no bolted plates and no bent brackets.

The series covers four sizes for tubes with an outside diameter of 16, 18, 20 and 22 mm. The two smallest are made for a wall thickness of 1.0 mm and the two largest for 1.5 mm; so check both dimensions on the tube before you order, because it is the inside diameter that decides how hard the push in part sits. The total height is 39 mm for all sizes and the wheel builds only 5 mm outside the tube end, which gives a low center of gravity and a discreet look where the wheel is barely noticed under the structure. The diameters are chosen for the tube types that are most common in light frames and racks.

Both wheel and body are in PA6 with a matte black surface. Nylon rolls quietly on hard floors, leaves no dark rubber marks and handles oil spills and cleaning agents that over time make many rubber wheels swell or dry out. The material is tough and impact resistant, so it takes thresholds, cable ducts and small edges without chipping. And since the wheel has no rubber tread there is nothing that flattens when the frame stands in the same spot for months.

Tubes in the range 16 to 22 mm are found in lighter structures: clothes racks, drying frames, demonstration racks, mobile screens, notice boards on legs, smaller display carts and store racks. That is where HH30 does the most good. For heavier carts there is the sister series for tubes 32 to 40 mm with stated load figures; load figures for HH30 itself are given by the manufacturer in the data sheet for the series, so look there before you size anything that has to carry a real load.

Mounting follows the same pattern as for push in feet. Cut the tube square, deburr the inside and tap in the wheel with a rubber mallet until it bottoms out. If the wheel sits loose you probably have the wrong wall thickness rather than the wrong diameter; measure with a caliper instead of guessing. Use the same size on all legs and check that the floor is free of chips and grit, because small wheels stop dead against obstacles that larger wheels roll over.

How do you know whether a wheel or a foot belongs in the tube end? A rule of thumb: if the structure is moved more often than once a week the wheels win, otherwise the stability of the feet wins. Many people choose to combine; two feet and two wheels give a rack that stands steady but can be tipped slightly and rolled away, the same principle as on a hand truck. If you want to go that way there are push in feet for round tubes in the same product family.

One last practical point: push in wheels are replaceable. When a wheel has worn out after years of rolling, the old one is pried out and a new one is tapped in, with no tools beyond the mallet and without taking the frame apart. That makes the series just as useful for maintenance of existing carts as for new builds.
