PP-R is a random copolymer of polypropylene. R stands for random copolymer, the softest version in the PP family. The material has lower stiffness and higher elongation than both PP-H and PP-C.

The density is 0.91 g/cm³, the tensile modulus 850 MPa and the yield strength 22 MPa. The elongation at yield is 12 percent. The notched Charpy impact strength is 25 kJ/m², the ball indentation hardness 40 MPa and Shore D 62. The temperature range is -20 °C to +80 °C.

PP-R is approved for direct food contact according to FDA. The building fire class is B2.

PP-R is used for piping systems, fittings, tanks and parts where good impact strength and easy welding matter. The material is welded with hot air or by socket welding.

PP-R is easy to cut with a fine toothed saw and is machined with ordinary tools for plastic. Thanks to the soft copolymer structure the tubes take impacts and temperature swings well.

This sheet in PP-R is gray and measures 2000x1000 mm, which suits cutting boards, linings, splash guards and machine guards.
